Wow. I have no idea where the time has gone. I can’t believe
that she’s two months old already. I feel as though I’ve already forgotten what
it was like to pregnant.
Weight: 9lbs, 13oz (14th percentile)
Height: 21.25 inches (7th percentile)
Clothes: I’ve quit putting newborn clothing on her this
week. It still fits, but it’s just easier to get 0-3 or 3 month size clothing
on.
Food: Aiden is eating 4oz of Nutramigen with Enflora every
3.5-4 hours.
SMILES!!!! Aiden has started smiling at us when we talk to
her and play with her. It’s awesome and it makes my heart melt every time. She’s
become so much more aware of her surroundings in the past two weeks. It’s really
cool to realize that she’s recognizing us and watching what we’re doing. She’s
looking at toys and focusing more. Her activity mat is a big hit as is the Jack
Johnson station on Pandora. We listen to music for most of the day. She seems
to really like it.
She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES bath time. Hugh takes a shower with
her every night and she becomes the so calm and happy. I love it. She’s happy
right up until she realizes that she’s out of the shower…about halfway from our
room to her room. Then she cries until I have her in pj’s and in the rocking
chair. Then, we sing and rock until Daddy comes in and reads a bedtime story.
We’ve developed our own bedtime routine and we’ve done a great job of sticking
to it. It seems to be making a difference. This week alone we’ve had two
episodes of sleep for 7 hours. (DEAR SWEET JESUS, THANK YOU!)
Monday was Aiden’s two month doctor’s appointment. All is
going well. The doctor is very happy with her weight gain, which proves that
the formula is working well for her. Dr. Yu was shocked at how well she was
controlling her head, and she even almost rolled over on the examining table!
Hugh and I have been concerned about her constant spitting up, but we’ve been
reassured several times that as long as she’s gaining weight then it’s nothing
to be concerned about. The only downside is that she gets more baths than most
people. Oh, and we’ll need new carpet in her room and living room furniture. :)
Hugh and I had our first night away from her last week. We
had concert tickets and decided to stay in hotel near the venue. We had a blast
and really enjoyed getting to SLEEP! However; we missed our little girl and
were very excited to see her the next afternoon.
Tobey and Cassie are doing very well with her. Cassie does
more ignoring than anything. Tobey actually sleeps in her room at night. He
cuddles up next to her big bear and stays in her room. Whenever she cries he
gets upset and follows me around with her. When she’s on the floor he inches
his way closer and closer to her until I tell him to stop. I love that he’s so
interested in her.
